OUR STORY

The world is changing. We’re slowly beginning to understand that looking after our minds is as fundamental to our overall wellbeing as looking after our bodies. We are also beginning to recognise that these two elements (body and mind) are inseparable and interlinked. BUT we still have a long way to go and progress requires ongoing commitment from communities and individuals to promote this message. 

At Value Your Mind, this is what we are all about…. 

Our key aims:

Promoting mental wellbeing for all, because feeling happy and confident is something we ALL have the right to feel. 

Offer an holistic approach to mental wellbeing, considering both mind and body.

A bit about me. I started my journey as mental health nurse and therapist in the NHS 10 years ago, (eek that makes me feel old). During this time I was looking for something I could do to help me relax but also feel confident in my body again. I eventually summoned the confidence to take myself to a yoga class and of course, loved it! It quite literally kick start a whole new love affair into the wonders of Eastern approaches to wellbeing; including Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Mindfulness etc.

I was so excited to see that such holistic and natural approaches to our health existed, and that these healing systems fully considered our mental & emotional wellbeing. This, along with the fact that I was noticing such massive improvements in my own confidence and self-esteem meant I was well and truly hooked. 

I went on to complete trainings in many different styles of yoga including vinyasa flow, yin yoga, yoga nidra and yoga therapy and am now a 500hr advanced yoga teacher. I’ve also completed courses in meditation, mindfulness, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Using this and my background in mental health, I founded Value Your Mind. Where the focus is just that, supporting you in valuing your mind. We offer regular emotional wellbeing retreats, 1-1 coaching, workshops and lots of free goodies; all that focus on reducing tension, improving calm and building self-esteem.
