The Best Health and Wellbeing Gifts

The Best Health and Wellbeing Gifts for Christmas

If you haven’t at least dipped your toe in the world of health and wellness recently then you my friend are in the minority. This is a world that is fast becoming ‘the’ world to be in. From our smoothie lovers to yogi brothers we are well and truly lapping it up and with Christmas upon us what better excuse than to delve head first into all those wonderful treasures the health and wellbeing industry lays at our feet. Of course this is easier said than done, especially if your not too au fait with what constitutes as one of these delightful treasures.

So, to sort the wheat from the chaff and make our lives that tad more stress-free (as of course VYM always endeavours to do) I’ve been on the hunt for the best health & wellbeing gifts. From stocking fillers to big gesture prezzies, I’ve compiled a list of my favourite gifts for Christmas.

Liforme Travel Yoga Mat £85

A yoga mat. If you know a yogi then this will be sure to win you bhealth and wellbeing giftsrownie points. Don’t worry if they have a mat already, this is by no means a replacement but more the perfect addition. It’s main aim, to ensure traveling doesn’t ever mean you have to leave your yoga mat behind again. It’s light weight makes barely a dent on your luggage limit and being slightly thinner means I actually managed to fit it in with my hand luggage! If you read my previous review on their original mats, the only thing I found a slight deterrent was the thickness of their original mat; so for me this travel mat makes the perfect solution and of course being Liforme means quality is not compromised with their amazing grip technology and iconic alignment lines being ever present. So whether it’s downward dog in the studio or warrior 2 in the hotel room, they’ll be strong, perfectly aligned and thanking whatever wonderful being bought them this present.

Sweet Virtues Chocolate Truffles £7.50:

What Christmas goes by without a little chocolate and just because we are talking health and wellbeing gifts that doesn’t mean this year should be any different. No, no, I couldn’t allow that. These delicious truffles arehealth and wellbeing gifts my new favourite thing. With three unique flavours not only does each one bring it’s own delightfully individual taste but each has special health benefits too; chia seed & lime for energy, maqui berry for detox and baobab & vanilla for balance. I can’t quite believe I’ve found a chocolate that I can keep eating and eating to my heart’s content and actually know it’s doing me good. I mean who wouldn’t love this in their stocking! Oh and did I mention they do good for you chocolate nut butter too, just perfect with a slice of toast and a cuppa tea.

Love Your Blender Selection Box £14.95:

Just as you were thinking your smoothie couldn’t get any healthier, Love Your Blender have gone and upped the game with their superfood boost sachets. These great little selection packs include all five of their sachet mixes, with each flavour having an abundance of superfood power; goji berries, acai, chia seeds, hemp seeds, brazil nuts.. and that’s just in one sachet! What really makes love your blender stand out from the rest is they are all about keeping the ingredients as whole as possible. No ground up, mashed up, who knows what mixes here. In these sachets you can actually see what you’re eating and the real beauty about keeping things whole? You don’t loose a single grain of nutrients. Just add the sachet to your fruit and veg, blend and hey presto what was a healthy smoothie is now one hell of a healthy smoothie. Simple, thoughtful and practical; the makings of a perfect  gift wouldn’t you say?

Lumie Alarm Clock £60- £100:

I am a massive fan of these alarm clocks! In fact I love them so much this is the shealth and wellbeing giftsecond time i’ve mentioned them in my blog (see ‘how to keep motivated in the winter’). But seriously, it just makes waking up in the morning that bit easier. With years of experimenting with different sounds, now i realise it’s all about the silence. The silence and the sunrise that is. The way the Lumie imitates a lovely slow sunrise means your mind is gently coaxed awake and you can open your eyes feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and calm.

Pranamat Eco £79:

A massage/ acupuncture mat. Know someone who is constantly complaining about aches and pains or just in need of a bit of tender loving care? Call in the Pranamat! I have to say to look at it (despite all the lovely choice of colours it comes in), you may be slightly dubious. But trust, myself and my partner (who suffers from lower bachealth and wellbeing giftsk problems) have just started using this miracle worker and are slightly addicted. Clinically tested, the little pointed massage heads are designed to work in a similar way to acupuncture, releasing toxins and pressure in the muscle fibres. Although not as instantly pleasurable as a massage, I certainly feel a release of tension from using it. My favourite thing to do is stand on it when I get home from work; it seems to re-energise my aching feet after a long day and give me that little boost I need to carry on with the evening. However there are plenty of other ways to use it and the website has a great number of easy to follow suggestions and tips on how to get the most out of it. Oh, and icing on the cake? It’s made from completely eco friendly materials, which always means an extra thumbs up from us.

Positivitea £5.50:

Last but certainly not least! Staying true to my good British roots I  just had to include some good old tea on this list and what better way than with Positivitea. I think their three P philosophy (present, possible and positive) is just great, something we here at VYM are massive advocates of. So if their tea helps you do that; well… Find me my cup and saucer pronto. The different blends are all designed to help connect with the different chakras and in turn give you the boost you need, whether it’s helping with sleep, improving digestion, increasing energy or reducing stress, these teas have it all. Whats more they have a special Christmas blend out for us to all enjoy. I’m certainly hoping I get this in my stocking this year.

If you have any other health and wellbeing gifts which you think deserve to be added to the list, then please feel free to add in the comments section below. In the meantime I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and your stockings are full with all the health and wellbeing gifts you could ever wish for.

VYM, x

  1. Hi Nathalie
I am researching mats as it’s time to upgrade – can’t deal with anymore slippery downward dogs! I noticed you have reviewed both the Liforme original and travel mats. I like the idea of the travel mat as it’s nice to have a connection to the floor but worried it’s too thin – what are your thoughts? I would use the travel mat for my regular practice and not just for travel. Thanks for your help.

    1. Hi Priya, sorry for the delay, it’s been a manic January.
Great to hear from you. The Liforme travel mat is actually what I practise on most regularly because it’s easy to carry round and it’s got great grip (which for me is the most important thing). Yes, it is thin and so in postures like headstand or where you’re on your knees you may find you need to fold the matter over or use a towel to pad it up but it’s very much about personal preference as I still find if I don’t have a towel to hand I can go into headstand without to much worry. The only time I don’t use it is if I’m practising outside on a hard surface such as a patio floor. Hope that’s of some help. Nat xx
